Petek is the perfect place for a warm dinner when it's cold outside. It's perfect for meat lovers as they serve juicy cuts of grilled lamb and chicken in different styles. Vegetarians can also feast on their generous mezze starter.
The BBQ meat was as juicy as you can dream it to be, served with rice, salad and bread, it makes for a perfectly filling meal. I tried lamb on a bed of aubergine puree, which was a perfect match, even if I hope there'd be more aubergine puree as it tasted delicious. The shish dishes are amazing for meat lovers, otherwise the mezze starter to share is perfect for vegans or vegetarians.
The service was nice and attentive, even on a busy night. They brought us olives when we sat down, and warm pita bread soon after.
The atmosphere is great, the lamps and the decoration on the wall make the place super cozy and warm. The tables are a bit cramped as it's usually very busy and they don't have much space, but I loved the dried chillis hanging from the ceiling, they match the spiciness of the dishes.
The dishes were clean, the table and chairs too. The kitchen is visible from the room so they cook under the customers' eyes.
It's a traditional BBQ and mezze Turkish restaurant, the meat dishes are traditionally accompanied by salad and rice, focussing on the great taste of the meat. However, they sometime add a twist on some ingredients. I particularly loved the aubergine puree, which I hadn't found anywhere else!
Slightly above average in my experience of Turkish restaurants. It's understandable when taking in consideration the cuts of meat they use, but then you'd hope they'd have slightly more sophisticated sides.
