Shoryu is a certainty if you've been wanting to have ramen for a while. It does not disappoint in what they can do best, extremely tasty ramen dishes. Definitely go if you don't want to risk being disappointed by a too watery ramen broth. I suggest to avoid busy hours as the place can get very cramped with people as it's so popular and therefore it might prove awkward to have a private conversation during your meal.
The ramen was super tasty, the broth is what makes it great! I tried a pork cutlet ramen and it was extremely rich with flavour, many different ingredients, and just the right amount of noodles!
The service was ok, it was very busy and cramped especially downstairs, so there's not a lot of space for the waiters to run around. They have a quick turnaround so you might feel the pressure to leave sooner rather than later.
The atmosphere is nice, however I'd suggest to avoid busy hours such as Friday nights. They try to fit as many people as possible and as a result the place is very cramped with tables! It was a bit awkward to have a private conversation when eating almost at the same table with a stranger.
The place was clean, very quick service and packed with people so probably distracting enough not to notice anything wrong with the cleanliness!
I love ramen, and knowing of a place where you know you're going to get good ramen is so important. Not so much on novelty, but sometimes you just want to eat what you know you like. This place is a certainty!
The pricing is slightly above average, however understandable if we consider the extremely central location. Most ramens come for around 13£ which is fair enough for the meat options.
